You might find the database on the OpenPrinting Web site
helpful:
https://www.openprinting.org/printers
That page will find printers for which you need a "driver"
backend
filter and/or PPD file. The Epson WF-7830 isn't one of those.
Driverless network-connected printers supported by
openprinting/CUPS
are listed here:
https://openprinting.github.io/printers/
Hmm, okay, thanks .... i went to openprinting.github.io first, and
it was by selecting the "Printer drivers" link that i ended up at
the link i shared in my last email. i now see that the "Find a
printer" link points to the link you've shared. Now that you've
provided the appropriate context, it makes sense, but i feel the
OpenPrinting home page should be clearer (and it doesn't help that
there are two apparent 'home pages', openprinting.org and
openprinting.github.io).
i've just added links to openprinting.org/printers on the
'Printers' page on the wiki, but i'll now further update the page
with the information you've provided. Thanks!
Alexis.
