Hi,

You can use Rox pinboard with xfce4.
You have to install Rox, then
<http://saturn.unibe.ch/rsbern/noaa/dw/realtime/current/640/n1bcurr.jpg>you
run rox --pin=PIN
You get a new desktop on which you can add desktop.link icons by drag
and drop.
