African Involvement in Solar Geoengineering "African Invovlement in Solar Geoengineering" is a half day workshop held in conjunction with the 24th Colloquium of African Geology (CAG24). The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and SRMGI will be co-convening this workshop. Participants from outside the CAG24 are also welcome to attend. Workshop Details: 8:30 am-12:00 pm January 14, 2013 Millenium Hall Addis Ababa, Ethiopia This short session will emphasize participant dialogue, with small group discussions and exercises designed to elicit views on how/if research should proceed, what regulations are needed, and the role African scientists, NGOs and policymakers can play in global geoengineering discussions. Participants will have an opportunity to review outcomes and build on the momentum of a similar meeting convened by the AAS in June 2012 in Dakar, Senegal: “Governance of Solar Radiation Management (SRM) Research: African Perspectives” and November 2012 in Boksburg, South Africa “Solar Geoengineering: Research, Governance, and African Involvement.”For more information on how to participate, please contact [email protected] More information on the CAG24 available here: -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "geoengineering" group.
