Current State and Future Perspectives Several European projects in the area of climate engineering research will have been completed in 2015. In Germany, the DFG’s Scientific Priority Program on Climate Engineering (SPP1689) will enter preparation for its second phase. Other countries are debating the merits of commencing their own research projects on climate engineering. Against this background, the Symposium „Climate Engineering Research: Current State and Future Perspectives“ in Berlin, July 7-10, 2015 has two aims in mind: To take stock on what we collectively know about climate engineering. To exchange views on the different directions in which research could and should move in order to provide sufficient information for societal decisions on Climate Engineering.
