Thank you for posting this very interesting document, Andrew.

On line 365 we find the statement characterizing CDR technology as being new,
untested, and thus a large question mark in the equation.

The cheapest, fastest, and easiest way to pull CO2 out of the environment is my
pulling it out of the ocean water. The technology to do this is known as the
Perpetual Salt Fountain and that technology has been well known, at the
scientific literature level, beginning in the 1930s.

I do applaud the investigators for such an ambitious effort. Such a system of
systems evaluation tool can be of tremendous importance.

However, I would like to, on the other hand, encourage them to drill down into
each and every technology that they know of but also to seek out those that are
not being widely discussed. In brief, don't become an echo chamber.

Consideration of the issue of coupling multiple CDR technologies is not
apparent in my reading of this document. It is my view that, coupled
technologies represent a whole new approach to the CDR equation which can
actually include SRM qualities.

If we take a look at Marine Cloud Brightening for example, it has both CDR, as
it can assess primary production by cooling the water through it shade, as well
as its primary qualities of SRM and can be easily coupled with Confined Marine
Biomass production and Accelerated Weathering of Limestone. Those three
technologies can exist on the same Oceanic platforms and would generate effects
locally, regionally, and on land and sea if marine biochar (Blue Biochar) is
factored in.

It is my view that the investigators have properly crouched down in their
starting position with their feet firmly against the starting blocks and with
their eyes locked forward. And it is an impressive posture.

Being completely and utterly comprehensive in their scope of the technological
options and or the combination of those options, will be the first hurdle they
must clear.

I will watch closely their performance in this very important effort. Lack of
absolute inclusion of each and every possible option and or combination of
options will be a failed first hurdle.

Best regards,
