I thought I had replied to this thread, but I guess not. I'm keen on this idea, but concerned about link bar creep (don't know how else to term it). Right now, we have have a few prominent links across the top of the page, a bunch of less-prominent links on the right side, and this would add another horizonal bar of links inside the main page (in the middle). While I agree that making the dev/users page more prominent is beneficial, do you think this may unecessarily clutter the main page? This may be more of a page template redesign issue than a main page content redesign issue, now that I think of it. "Download Now, FREE!" still sticks in my craw a bit. :)
