The Ext look reminds me a lot about Office 2003*, with a little "Windows 
XP Media Edition" shading added. I think it was a neat trick to make 
people realize AJAX applications can replace traditional desktop 
applications ("They look the same, therefore they must be equal").

But I don't think Ext has a look that is worth pursuing, we'll look like 
2003 in 2010. Better to go with whatever wicket can give us easily, and 
tone down Ext. I don't know how easy that is either, but JQuery has some 
pretty fancy stuff** coming up, Ext must offer some features in this 
department too.
