Hi, just thinking out loud, it would be nice to have an automated way to just give a list of extension names (without the version) and have the system download them for you. Maybe it does not have to be in the docker image itself, could be an external script that downloads the extensions and puts them in the right folder for the docker image to pick them up, "pimpMyGeoserver.sh" :-D (kidding about the name!!).
You know, so that on upgrade, one can just change the image name and go. Oh, the data directory should probably be allowed to live outside of the docker image too? And maybe the GWC tiles directory as well (can grow and become huge). Just thinking out loud, as long as the docker image has a maintainer, one can start small and add improvements later.
