I plan to submit a proposal for an official GeoServer Docker image in

already raised in September last year, but not much has happened since

I would like to ask for ideas and thoughts on this topic that could be
included in the proposal.
A key point is certainly the handling of extensions. Since not
everyone needs the same set of extensions in their GeoServer, the
current idea is that a user-defined set of extensions could be
downloaded and included on container startup (before the tomcat
actually starts).
