My GeoTiff files are fine, they contains float 32 bit data.
My only problem "how to raster this to RGB values with a maximum of precision".
However, I don't understand how the "extended" attribute works...
I tried this (all valid values in my GeoTiff are between -100 and 100):
<ColorMap extended="true">
<ColorMapEntry color="#000000" quantity="-500" label="nodata"
opacity="0.0" />
<ColorMapEntry color="#000000" quantity="-100" label="values"
opacity="1.0" />
<ColorMapEntry color="#FFFFFF" quantity="100" label="values"
opacity="1.0" />
</ColorMap>
But I don't see where the 16 bits interpolation is on my output image.

Problem relating to gdal. So if you created your data originally came from
.flt, and gdal was used, that might be the issue.
But if you geotiffs are fine, then ignore this email.
