According to Oracle, Java 6 will EOL this November. At or slightly
before then, I expect us to be required to upgrade all servers to this
newer version.
Is anyone working with 7 for new GeoServer versions? If not would I be
wasting my time trying out the 2.2 beta with 7 on our development
network?
Believe me, I know it's a pain. We are currently chasing a threading
issue with some change in 7 that causes a background thread to never
complete (but of course not fail so we can easily determine where). And
we need to get this fixed ASAP, since the desktops will more than likely
be upgraded sooner than that date.
