Tested the same imagemosaic on my development server with Geoserver
2.2.1 and setting the OutputTransparentColor worked with no errors. So
obviously it was version 2.0.2, or my setup with 2.0.2.
Umair, for further clarification, you don't set the
OutputTransparentColor to 'no color' you set it to the color that you
want to make transparent. So in my imagemosaic the surrounding nodata
values were coming out white when I previewed it. Setting the
OutputTransparentColor to white (FFFFFF) then made those pixels
transparent. It's not entirely logical and not well described in the
documentation (The documentation actually says /OutputTransparentColor
parameter configured with 'no color' /and /OutputTransparentColor
parameter configured with 'no data' color)/ under the figures but this
isn't particularly clear/.

Ciao Richard,
thinking, can you share the output of the gdalinfo on one of your datasets?
I am interested in seeing which type of data we are talking about and
what is going on with it.

Ciao Umair,
there should be a colorpicker associated to that field.
Otherwise, going by memory you should be able to set it in the HEX
for, e.g. #ffffff for white.
