Hi,
Reading around I found:
https://community.oracle.com/thread/863652
Which suggests that ESRI use their own flavour of ST_GEOMETRY, it's not the
same as Oracle ST_GEOMETRY that you're using. So in that case, unfortunately
you are locked in to accessing the data with ESRI tools and toolchains.
I know ESRI ArcSDE can access data stored as regular Oracle SDO_GEOMETRY;
that's how we did it at a previous job, using first ArcSDE and then
direct-connections from ArcMap in 10.x. GeoServer could connect to the database
directly using the Oracle standard extension.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan,
As my data is stored in oracle as ST_GEOMETRY, I have no choice but to
create a direct connect . Now maybe I should give up as it seems that it's
not readily supported in the Open Source world.
