The main thing I lack, due largely to my own failure to keep close track of the FM effort, is a warm fuzzy that I understand the relationship between Features and Coverages in GT. I think I have a pretty good handle on how the ISO 19100 / OGC standards view the issue. I just don't understand new FM well enough to be convinced that I can faithfully execute that relationship in practice. I am particularly concerned about the issues of reading and writing Coverages. In fact, the GML-in-J2K format already requires that a single reader be capable of returning both "features" and "gridded coverage data". It would seem to me that the relationship between features and coverages in GT must be nailed down prior to making any kind of coverage I/O framework. We can use the current grid coverage exchange for the moment, but I think it's pretty safe to assume that it will not stand the test of time... :) Bryce ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
