I take it you are pulling your support then? I need my good example of JDBC based data access; PostGIS is that I can work with right now (H2 does not appear to cut it - if you can figure out the spatial db in a box and index stuff then I will be happy to switch) - until then I am going to keep going.
Moving the module over to supported status will be a subject for another day (and a proposal) providing the approach is sounds and the results are up to snuff.
