Hem, trunk as in... trunk? You know that there are dragons on trunk 
these days right? Complex feature work is slowly starting to land
and even if managed in the most careful way it'll (temporarily) break
datastores, xml modules and possibly render too.
If you need to get into production within 6 months I'd suggest you to
stick on 2.4.x branch.
