Tim has provided patches in the past, although Jesse and I had feedback
the sometimes two monthly delay in seeing them applied does not do
anyone any good.

Thanks for stepping forward Tim.

This is a tough call Tim, it is sometimes worth your time to backport a
fix to the stable branch (but we do not have a policy with respect to
this). In terms of it being worth your time a lot more users are on the
stable branch and can give you feedback and useful quesitons.

Andrea I think we are through that period, I have been working happly on
trunk over the last month. What we lack to move uDig onto trunk is the
following:
1) some code still breaks on new filters
2) aggregation functions (like sum and average) are busted
3) geoapi 5 generics were giving us grief
4) Solid code examples of SimpleFeatureBuilder and SimpleFeatureTypeBuilder

Issues 1 and 2 exist on 2.4, Issue 3 is resolved byt we have not had a
chance to see if it was successful or not, for Issue 4 some
documentaiton has been started but I am still waiting a review.

This is not a ringing endorcement; but we are over the scary part.

I also recommend merging your fixes onto the 2.4.x branch.
