Quoting your words one could say that Postgrid is a project that runs
outside the GeoTools SVN and which is managed by what seems to be a
subset of the geotools developers, hence it is not receiving enough
feedback from the remaining  geotools developers. Therefore we cannot
trust it like we would trust JTS, JAI and ImageIO.
