I am worried about the direction you are going Martin; it is one thing
to have problems with the library moving too slow for Java 6. It is
another to start looking at tech so you can work on your own private
branch and not have to interact with the community. Right now the
community is waiting on you for a backlog of referencing work; you can
stand to wait for us to make use of Java 6.

If jaxb is a technical direction you decided on for your own project -
go for it. Waiting for GeoTools should of been part of your risk
planning right? The GeoTools library has our own mandiate and right now
it includes a parser that can handle a range of standards. Treat
GeoTools like any other project if you need to do some long term
planning do some long term planning in the IRC meetings and in public.

Still for today I am looking at trunk broken on a day when I need it to
work in public. Eclipse has identified that a testMetadataAnnotations()
method is not going to be able to run since it lacks an XMLStreamWriter
class. What has changed since last week to make this a problem for me today?

Please understand I am stressed out because of something that changed in
your module; hours before I need it to work.
Jody
