I am totally in to figuring out a way for JaxB to work; it is just that I tried this one and failed for the WFS case (I tried to post an article summing up my experience). Now it could be that Sun has fixed some of the problems? I also know that some of the other parsing technologies have caught up with our work in terms of supporting streaming etc...
Your points about EMF etc are on target; you should find that you can ignore that and just generate bindings; I find the resulting code much easier to understand and debug than the EMF reflection based code I saw out of the WPS project. Martin may remember when we talked about setting up a SAX parser with "dispatch"; that is all we have done .. yes we used the XSD project to parse in the schema (and hold the data structure used for dispatch); but the internal Xerces data model was not considered available / stable at the time. We took a calculated risk .. So let's see how this discussion plays out - we will see how worthwhile the risk was.
