Before... not that this will make any difference thought.
The module has been really unsupported for as long as I can remember,
the only work that comes to mind during the last two years has
been done by Gabriel adding (read only?) support for WFS 1.1

So it's just really accepting reality and conforming to it,
the module has been unmaintained for a long time already.
At least now Gabriel expressed an interest in doing some more
fixes, which is better than before I guess.

Btw, the module is used in GeoServer to perform WFS cascading,
it has nothing to do with the ability of GeoServer to
act as a WFS server, it related to its ability to connect
to other WFS servers and cascade them.

Anyways, if you're interested in helping out with this
module and bring it back to supported land you're more
than welcomed to join our effort.
