Ahh I remember, you build the pyramids for each tile separately. I  
hope you are aware of the fact that this does not work for each map. I  
had maps with grid lines. You should mention this fact in the wiki.

Oracle Georaster offers 3 features
1) mosaicing
2) pyramids
3) georeferencing and spatial operations on the georaster object

The current georaster plugin uses 1) + 2) + 3)

Your plugin will use 2) + 3)

I would propose to add a third plugin which only uses 3) having the  
pyramids stored in their own georaster objects. You can use a meta  
table for storing the pyramid infos

In this case, TileTable=SpatialTable

This is also the way for PostGIS Wkt Raster.

As a consequence, we could offer OracleGeoraster support in 3  
variations, but this is only a proposal and depending on your time.

About the community module. If you  want to implement the reader  
plugin and a test case only, a community module is ok.

If you want include support for importing tiles and generation of DDL  
statements, a patch would be better.

Look at this classes
org.geotools.gce.imagemosaic.jdbc.Import
org.geotools.gce.imagemosaic.jdbc.DDLGenerator

There is a base class for the tests

org.geotools.gce.imagemosaic.jdbc.AbstractTest

The test cases use the DDLGenerator to create the db setup, the Import  
class to import the test tiles into the database and, of course, the  
different plugins to produce images.

If you prefer, you can do it like I did it with the Georaster plugin  
and delegate DDL creation and import to Oracle Tools. In this case you  
only have to document the db setup in the wiki and write a test case  
like

org.geotools.gce.imagemosaic.jdbc.GeoRasterOnlineTest
