In any case, this discussion is becoming pointless.

If there is such a rule please point to the relevant GSIP or documented
project management rule.
If there is one I apologize and we'll start a proper discussion on how and
why use ehcache in the mosaic module.

If there is no such a rule but you feel it's important to have one make a
proposal in that direction and get it voted.

As for the ehcache dependency, not sure what to do about it right now.
Do you want us to just declare it in the main pom, get rid of it, or what?
