Quick question; the excel plugin was mentioned recently on the geoserver 
(http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-4461) list by Shane.
Shane we we considering dropping things from GeoTools unsupported that do not 
have a friend.

Perhaps you would consider becoming co-module maintainer with Ian Turton (who 
also expressed an interest).
