No, I fully agree that adding a new module with no one looking after it
makes no sense,
especially with a situation where the already exisiting netcdf module
(unsupported/coveage-experiment/netcdf)
is about to see a large injection of new code, providing more functionality
out of the box, and has core
devs backing it.

Having two modules with the same functionality is odd, but as along as they
are both unsupported, well, let the
best one win?
