I don't think that Tomcat is in fault. The problem is that this JNDI binding
has
been done by someone (myself) who actually doesn't know anything about JNDI. I
just tried to follow the instructions about what is (in my understanding) the
new way to register a DataBase (in replacement of javax.sql.DriverManager), but
probably did it wrong.
Maybe I should remove completly this JNDI binding until someone more
knowledgable can work on it. In its current stade, it seems to cause more
trouble than help.

I will comment out this binding on trunk (are you using trunk?). Since
"JDBC/EPSG" seems to be broken the way I did it, I assumes that nobody used it
anyway.
