Thanks for your reply. I will check on attributes, i guess you are right.

So when you say shapefile only support MultiLineString, MultiPolygon and 
MultiPoint what exactly do you mean? Do you mean GeoTools does not support it?

I understand from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapefile that a shapefile has a 
lot more shapetypes than the one you mention so can you explain yourself a bit 
more?

Hi Jeroen - it sounds like one of your attributes is null!

Also note that shapefile only supports MultiLineString, MultiPolygon and 
MultiPoint ...
