Hi Michael,
I extract myself some sub-areas from GridCoverage2Ds. I think there is two
possibilities :
first, you want to extract a "géoréférenced area", and the best way seems to
be the "crop operation" (for me),
second, you want to extract an area and you know only its pixels coordinates
in the grid, and then, I think you should extract the image from the
GirdCoverage, and then get the sub-matrixes from this image.
These are just some ideas from my (little) experience...
