Thanks Michael, I will check this - having problems opening the nabble link - gets me back to the default geotools-dev nabble view. I tried searching, and one of your earlier posts comes with http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTDOC/Vector+grids , but it asks for login/password :(
