Great idea! Can you tell us if the show will be HD video or standard DV? This makes a big difference in who can offer footage. Are you planning on pitching it to GreenPlanet Channel or any (HD) broadcaster, perhaps LinkTV? If so, aim for 28 minutes. Would be interesting to see a Creative Commons piece air on something other than CurrentTV.
