It will be in DV. The license will be a CC! The video is going to be part of a training kit on PGIS. We will make it available for free on the internet and also to broadcasters if interested.
We just completed this video on Cybertracker (beta version) for you to get the feel of the style: http://dotsub.com/view/b0870f5c-0a36-4364-84af-d00e5cd0770d Giacomo Rambaldi From: DNR [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, June 19, 2009 7:16 PM To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Geowanking] Video documentary on participatory mapping / PGIS / PPGIS practice Great idea! Can you tell us if the show will be HD video or standard DV? This makes a big difference in who can offer footage. Are you planning on pitching it to GreenPlanet Channel or any (HD) broadcaster, perhaps LinkTV? If so, aim for 28 minutes. Would be interesting to see a Creative Commons piece air on something other than CurrentTV. Thanks for the offer! In the context of the initiative we plan to produce a 20 min video documentary on PGIS practice. We are therefore on the look for raw footage which could be used in the process. Specifically we look for footage on the different participatory mapping methods including the following: (i) ground and sketch mapping, (ii) scale mapping (using GPS and/ or conventional survey instruments); (iii) participatory photo mapping, (iii) participatory mapping using satellite images; (iv) internet-based mapping (screen-captures & action); (v) legend making; (vi) data gathering (vii) people discussing around maps; (vii) individuals/groups of people making a case using maps, (viii) etc. Footage should clearly refer to a development context. The documentary will be available for free under a Creative Commons license via the training kit and online. Sources of footage used will be duly acknowledged. Should you be interested in making your footage available to the production team and -provided you are the author or hold copyrights on such footage, and have permission to make use of it - please get in touch with me at Rambaldi[at]cta.int and we will discuss the matter further. More information on the initiative is found here: http://pgis.cta.int/ongoing-initiatives/52-participatory-gis-training-kit Many thanks Giacomo Rambaldi _______________________________________________ Geowanking mailing list [email protected] http://geowanking.org/mailman/listinfo/geowanking_geowanking.org
