Hi Some of you have probably seen the "Harry Potter/Weasley" Location Clock I made a few years ago:
http://blog.johnmckerrell.com/2009/06/01/hacking-location-into-hardware/ You might be interested to know that I've designed a version that I'm able to sell. I need to get 50 people to buy one before it's worth me doing it, it's going to be an Open Hardware project so the specs for the hardware and the Arduino software will be available but I'm hoping there's enough people without access to a laser cutter or time that are willing to just pay me for one :-) If you're interested then take a look here: http://blog.mapme.at/wheredial/ I'm also interested to hear any ideas you have for improvements. I'd love to have some representation of the globe on the ring that allows it to illustrate where in the world you are for instance.
