Geo works well on Kickstarter these days! We ran one for SplashMaps
<http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1521486951/splashmaps> in December.
Worked for us! Using OSM was compelling for some, and challenging for us.
Perhaps you'll get some great coverage for your product too! Check out the BBC
coverage of ours at www.splashmaps.net and click the ugly guy with the map
round his neck ;-)…. one of our Directors has put some money in already for
you… so best of luck Steve. I'm sure you don't need to, but please get in
contact if you want. Would be great to pick your brains over OSM too ;-)

Hi Brian

You'd be correct if freeways and financial districts were major population
centers.

So they're traffic/road network maps basically?

Execution is kinda neat I guess but I don't see any remarkable pattern
in the result (I.e. it's a cool idea but I don't think you took it far
enough). They pretty much look exactly how I would guess. In fact I'm
quite certain you could take existing road networks, process the line
thickness with population density (interpolated to avoid the census
blocks) and get more or less the same result.

Possibly more interesting in places where road networks are not
dominant and at a larger scale or animated to show how cities
"breathe". Or at a very large scale to see how people walk around
Central Park or Disneyland, etc.
