For anyone who's interested in address-geocoding, SRC, Inc. just released an open source geocoder. There's a op-ed piece on it at Directions Magazine http://www.directionsmag.com/editorials.php?article_id=2150.
It's still pretty US-centric, relying on TIGER data, but they want others who can to adapt it to address-geocoding world-wide.
