Dear colleagues, I am trying to set up a panel to submit to the IWRA 2011 conference in Brasil (September 25-29, Recife http://www.worldwatercongress.com/en/submission.php) with another colleague from Argentina. We are interested in discussing different aspects of the Human Right to Water. Consequently, I would like to know if any of you might be interested and to ask if you could forward this message to those that might be.
Our tentative abstract is quite open: Water Governance and Human Rights The discussion on a Human Right to Water is not new, but it has gained momentum in the last decade with comparisons of private and public water providers performance and international mobilisation at the United Nations level to consider the definition of a Human Right to Water (and Sanitation). This panel discusses different aspects of this relation, including political, economic, financial, administrative and social ones, both at a national and international levels. I would need your contributions by December 31 to organise things. Title of paper Abstract Name of author/s Affiliation/s Contact/s Thanks to all. Wishing everyone a great new year! ****************************************** Paula Duarte Lopes, PhD International Relations Professor, School of Economics Peace Studies Researcher, Center for Social Studies University of Coimbra - Portugal http://www.ces.uc.pt/investigadores/cv/paula_duarte_lopes.php?id_lingua=2
