I think my suggestions are wonderful but would like to add a couple:
** Encourage use of the new GML archives. They also are a source of
information like the basic Web references. You can search for info on
what you want to know. That saves you the embarrassment of looking stupid
because someone asked the same question last week. (The archives will
become even more useful as time goes on.)
** Please keep in mind that others don't use the Web just the way you do.
That especially includes:
** Attachments to messages are a pain.
** Using HTML or any other format except plain-text is a pain.
** Many GML users pay by the second for connection to the Internet.
Keep your signatures short and avoid sending them extraneous stuff. Edit
and trim your message as much as you can while preserving meaning.
