I have only used ornacycline (for birds) when my pups were sick. A helpful
friend on the list told me to give mom gerbil the dose of 1/2 tablet per 4
oz and change daily for 5 days. And it worked beautiful! Now, I am in no way
experienced in this but I happen to have the inside leaflet of the
ornacycline package and it lists the differences:
The original Ornacyn;
>treats most common bird respiratory ailments.
>useful as a regular preventive measure.
>readily soluble in bird's drinking water.
>safe with all bird species.
Ornacycline;
>treats intestinal ailments and ornacyn-resistant respiratory problems.
>Convenient, fast dissolving Tetracycline tablet for birds water supply.
>yellow colour attracts birds; fruit aroma and flavour stimulate drinking.
Ornacyn plus;
>treats most common bird respiratory ailments.
>also corrects vitamin deficiencies and diarrhea;relieves stress during
>treatment.
>Contains essential B complex vitamins and amino acids.
