This has nothing to do with your arguments. People buy these animals and
come back because they are good quality pets and they know a reliable
breeder.

Jackie is a well regarded breeder whose gerbils and other animals are
desired all over London but I don't think money has anything to do with
it. She probably charges less than the average pet shop but many people
will spend five times the cost of the gerbil to come over and collect
it. They could get a gerbil cheaper from their local pet shop and save
several hours in travel? Why do they pay the extra and wait?

To them the animal is more valuable than money. I agree.
