Hey Gerbil Friends!
Here's a quick update on my gerbil family. (I just cleaned "house" and changed
living arraingements).
Angel "the Matriarch" is now in the gerbil cage. She is definitely starting
to look old---getting greyer and greyer. And she seems a bit skinny. I'll
check her teeth and give her a few extra treats. FYI-Angel is a black
bellatrix who tried to kill her last two roommates and now lives alone...she
is 21 months old.
Norm "the psycho patriarch" (agouti) and his grandson, Scar (argente) are now
living in the 20 gallon aquarium and both are doing fine. Occasionally Norm
tries to "mate" with Scar and that makes Scar pretty mad!
Cindy "the outsider" (argente pied) has abused Ike one too many times! She is
about 15 months old and hasn't had babies since July. She used to live with
Mike&Ike, but Mike was removed several months ago due to too much fighting.
Then Cindy started systematically harrassing Ike (mostly biting on his
cheeks). I kept hoping she would have babies so I could pair her with one of
her daughters, but I don't think she will. Now Cindy is alone in the
10-gallon aquarium. She is kinda chubby, but maybe I'm imagining things. I
still hope she'll give birth to provide for her a roommate.
Mike&Ike are in the 29-gallon aquarium in a "split-tank". I am trying to
re-introduce these two brothers. Both are pretty agitated about the stranger
on the other side, but hopefully after a week of living in close quarters (but
seperate) will convince them to accept each other. Both are schimmel
bellators.
