Hi Gerbil Owners;
Back in Autumn/99, I posted an inquiry about creating
a list of Canadian Gerbil Owners. There were some
positive responses but I was a bit too busy at the
time to start it.
I've thought about it since and decided that it would
be fairest if I created a list for Gerbil Owners all
around the world. It would be modelled after the Degu
Owners List <http://surf.to/DeguMania> [please click
on the button on the righthand side]. Note that each
e-mail address is protected from SPAM by the insertion
of the phrase "SPAM@LESS" in the middle. Each entry is
sorted according to the first character in the e-mail
address and are grouped by country. It is easily
possible to subdivide any particular country by
state/province/territory, etc if there are enough
entries. Finally, each person can choose to have their
real name or pseudonym listed. You can read the
"Notes" at the bottom of the Degu Owners List for
information categories, safeguards and appropriate
useage guidelines.
The Gerbil Owners List would reside on the GerbilMania
page [ie., <http://surf.to/GerbilMania> and I would be
willing to let Julian host a mirror image of the
Gerbil Owners List at the N.G.S. web site. As you can
see, I've already started it by including my own
entry.
Please let me know if you think this would be a useful
endeavour and whether you would like to be listed on
it.
I am changing my on-line identity from "The Gerbil
Man" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to "Gerbil Maniac"
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to better reflect the
name of my rather modest web site. However, I will be
checking both e-mail addresses on a regular basis.

BTW, rest assured I have no commercial intentions for
the Gerbil Owners List nor do I have any for the rest
of the AniMania site (don't bother exploring the links
on the site as the Degu Owners List, the Gerbil Owners
List, and a Canadian Gerbil Society announcement page
[for Nick Cassidy] are the only documents on the
entire site!!).
