My point is that it is a potential problem, and because of this, my ISP
prohibits me from presenting my e-mail address as using any domain I do
not legitimately have access to.

BTW, changing the user part of the e-mail address still means the mail
goes to that domain. It has to be dealt with there by the mail software
at that domain. If by chance there is a user there with that name they
will be getting someone else's junk mail. I agree the chances of this
happening are low, but it can and does happen.
