Hi Julian:

I suppose one can always specifically state to NOT
have their e-mail address masked by such anti-spam
phrases as SPAM@LESS or $PAM@LE$$. The choice is
theirs.

But other than that, there is really no simple method
to thwart automated net bots from harvesting e-mail
addresses. There is no real privacy on the internet.
Afterall, even the subscriber listing for the GML is
available upon request.

I rather have my e-mail address blocked from spammers
with this method rather than worry about potential
consequences from my ISP and the free e-mail
providers. Otherwise, one could always challenge them
to provide appropriate spam filters. Frankly, I have
little faith in ISP's and the free e-mail providers in
this regard.
