Pine Bedding

I think i've asked this question before, in one of my "update clan posts" but
everyone might have over looked it..My question is, would it be ok to keep
NON breeding gerbils (older gerbils) on pine bedding, I read or heard from
someone that it would be ok?.. Is this safe? thank you
