I have to sheepishly add my voice to those against pine bedding. When I got
my first pair at the pet shop, that was the only kind of bedding they
carried, and although I knew pine was bad for rabbits (the smell causes
liver damage, if I remember correctly), I bought a small package of pine.

I have since used "just a handful" in some of the cages to use it up,
because it's paid for & I didn't want to throw it out. However, I have 2
gerbils, one per cage, with red noses, and they're in cages that got a
handful of pine this last round. No more pine in this house. Some of them
it bothers, some it doesn't, but probably bothers even the ones who don't
get red noses. It's bad stuff.
