My first gerbils are the three boys we have right now. I was researching
pets that would satisfy the conditions of our lease (only animals that are
caged or in an aquarium). Gerbils were one of the possibilities. My
husband and I liked what we read in the books and decided that gerbils
were our first choice. Then I went online to find as much information as
I could about their care. That is when I ran across this list. In
reading all of the messages, I discovered that Tana was living fairly
close to us and she had gerbils for sale when we were ready for them. So
we drove to Tana's and picked up three brothers she was hoping to place
together. We have had them since July 3, 1999. I am very grateful to
Tana because we ended up with three very tame, sweet boys that have been a
joy to care for. They will be a year old on April 4th. Pumpkin seeds all
around!! 8-)
