On a very hot day I found our Black Daisy laying stretched out in the
sand-filled bowl which our two gerbils use for sandbathes (as long as the
sand is still dry) and as a toilet.
We had put the sand-bowl on a high place, so that they can't cover it with
litter and every second or third day we change the sand and it is the only
place in the cage they use as a toilet, so we need not change the bedding
very often.
I think maybe it is a good idea to give the gerbils a flat ceramic or metal
dish filled with sand on hot days (maybe put the sand into the fridge
before) :-)
