Hi Andrea,

I'm glad you are considering getting some gerbils. They are great pets.

One way to help keep them cool is place a small jar filled with ice water in
the tank. Make sure the cap is secure so it won't come off and flood the
tank. A baby food jar would work great for this.

The gerbils would be able to decide for themselves if they want to be close
to the cool jar.
