Hi everyone, I'm a pretty new gerbil owner. I just got a pair a few days
ago from a local pet store. One is mostly black with a little white
under her chin and the other looks like pictures I've seen of a black
pied. Anyway, I noticed that sometimes when they're in their can
together (an empty peanut can they use as a nest area) that they'll
squeak. I had gerbils a few years ago and I don't remember them ever
squeaking. These gerbs are a lot younger though, could that be the
reason? Why do gerbils squeak anyway? I've found info on thumping as a
means of communication, buyt nothing about squeaking.
