Okay might as well toss in my $.02 here...

I used to ship... I no longer do. Just too much of a hassle and I got sick of
it. Since I've had a lot of trouble placing pups locally--but I have not, and
will never, resort to selling pups to pet stores, so I sitll have many of them.
Yes some of them are nearly 1 yr old now, but as long as they are with me, I
know they are fed, cared for, and loved. I do try to place them whenever
possible, but I'm not about to settle for a substandard home out of desperation
(or start shipping again.) Unfortunately the terrible irony of it is, that
while I was shipping I also knew a lot of local people also interested in
pups... as soon as I stopped shipping they dried up!! LOL

Anyway, I agree, it's not too bright to fuss with the USPS... hardly worth the
trouble. But then on the other hand, I can't help but think... what would I
have done 3 years ago if no one was willing to ship? I would never have my
siamese or grey agouti gerbils. I would have never known my beautiful grey
agouti spot boy, Riven, or my sweet siamese Dana. I'd never have my lovebug
Lilith or my sweet boy Ashwin. And don't try to tell me I could have driven to
Wisconsin or South Dakota and picked them up. At the time only a few
individuals had the c(b) and g gene, and the only reason why they're so widely
available today is BECAUSE OF shipping...
