I disagree. It also depends on your area, and if there is a market for
gerbil pups. So maybe some breeders should only have one pair, because
there is no market for gerbils in their area...that's their choice. If they
CHOOSE to have more pairs, because they want to ship, that's ALSO their
option. Each breeder who ships takes it on themselves, and it does not
affect others on this list, but the way this "war" is going, you'd think it
did. Someone on this list got caught shipping, and all she got was a note
asking her to please stop shipping. So she did....it's not a big deal, and I
think we need to let each breeder choose if they want to ship or not,
instead of making this a big deal on this list..yet ANOTHER thing to fight
over. Is that all we do anymore? With Deb working on the gerbil rideshare
project, hopefully we'll be able to use that more than shipping, however
deciding as a list of mostly underage people to "ban" shipping (yes, I
understand the law states it's illegal, but did you also know that it's
illegal in Georgia to walk around on a Sunday with an ice cream cone in your
back pocket? Some laws are taken less seriously than others) is just going
to upset people who ship. I'll use myself as an example. I don't ship. I
can place my gerbil pups from my 6 gerbil pairs here. However, if I want to
get new colors, I have to have them shipped in, because there aren't any
gerbils breeders in Eau Claire. (and if they are, then they are well hidden
:) I'm sure other people are in the same boat as me, because pet stores
around here are so horrible I'd be lucky to find a decent agouti much less a
lilac or a Yellow Fox...the one petstore I work with only has the colors *I*
give them, so that doesn't help me at all. Anyway, I've gotten a little
off topic, but I hope I made some sense. The main point is to just let
people decide for themselves what they want to do with their
gerbils...shipping or not. ~Tasha~
